If you visit Patzcuaro on the weekend, you'll find cultural activities outdoors in the bustling Plaza Vasco de Quiroga, opposite our Hotel Mansion Iturbe. Enjoy the colors of the square between multicolored balloons, traditional music, and the famous dance of the Viejitos, as well as craftsmen who cross your path selling their handicrafts from different communities around Lake Patzcuaro.

You can find more cultural activities at the Centro Cultural Antiguo Colegio Jesuita, where various exhibitions are commonly presented for the enjoyment of our visitors.

Spring in Patzcuaro is a great time to enjoy the pleasant, sunny days of this season around Lake Patzcuaro. Take a boat ride to the famous island of Janitzio. And now you can zoom across the lake on the zip-line that connects Janitzio to the neighboring island of Tecuena. Venture out to other lesser-known islands that will surely catch your attention: the island of the Pacanda and the island of Yunuén.

Another good option may be a visit to the Estribo Grande, to breathe fresh air and enjoy panoramic vistas of Lake of Patzcuaro and our magical village.
